Merino Wool is world famous for its softness, strength, versatility and performance.

It is a 100% natural fibre and is produced by 71 million sheep living on water, air, sun and grass.

At the microscopic level, each Merino Wool fibre is like a coiled spring that, after being folded, returns to its natural shape. This gives Merino Wool garments a natural resistance to wrinkling and thus makes them easy to care for. Merino Wool is one of the most breathable fibres; in fact, it can absorb large amounts of vapour that are then released into the air, thus keeping the wearer drier.

Compared to synthetic fabrics, therefore, Merino Wool is active and reacts to changes in body temperature by keeping warm when it is cold, but dispersing heat and moisture when it is hot. In addition, Merino Wool is able to absorb the sweat molecules responsible for odours, which are only released after washing.

Merino wool fibres are extremely fine, allowing them to bend much more than the fibres of traditional wools, which makes it enormously soft and gentle on the skin.

Most Merino wool garments can be washed in domestic washing machines at 30° with gentle washing, finally answering the frequently asked question ‘How should I wash wool?’
